JRPG inspired short game with some lore to uncover, hope it'll keep you entertained for at least a bit! it's nothing out of this world, but even a short game takes time and energy!! and I really liked how it came out so I figured I might as well share it. 

This game was made using only the baseline assets that RPG Maker VX Ace comes with, since I thought it would add to the old game feel.

It originally started as me testing out RPG Maker since VX Ace was given away for free on steam, but then I got really into making something short and here we are! I wanted the game to feel like a really old rpg you could come across online for free on some forum, and I also wanted the trailer to reflect that. So if it makes you feel like something you could find somewhere or get shared to you around 2012 or so then I'll consider that a success!

I'll leave some general information and tips about the game in here:

- Game autosaves on a dedicated save slot any time you go into a new room/screen. 

- You move with the arrow keys. Then space, Z or intro can work as you action button (choose whichever you like) and escape or X are the keys to access the menu and anything you might need, as well as being the “go back” buttons. These are the only keys you need to play!

- Game's in 640x480 because of the engine itself. There are ways of working around this but honestly I really liked the idea of leaving it as is, it kind of gives it an old game feel and I really dig that. You can play it in window mode or in full screen mode if you press Alt + Enter or if you press F1 while in game and change it on those settings

- You can press F1 to choose some settings!!

- Leveling up won't refill your HP and MP, you gotta be creative and resourceful to keep them filled (don't worry, I made sure this makes sense/doesn't feel frustrating at all. It's just a game mechanic like any other and won’t be much of a challenge).

- Try to interact with anything that catches your eye pressing space or whichever action button you desire. There is hidden stuff!

- Stuff that seems decorative might be more than that if you interact with it!

- Play it like you would most JRPGs.

- I love games with cryptic lore/lore that lets you fill in the gaps with your own ideas, so please do let me know your interpretation of things! I wanna know what you take away from all this.

- Don't worry about pieces of equipment you don’t have a use for; you'll be able to sell them later!
